Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to menu specifications
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Support kitchen staff with cooking tasks as needed, including basic cooking techniques
- Help with food handling, storage, and inventory management
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently to meet service times
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Assist with catering orders and special event meal preparations when required
Skills
- Experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning and food preparation techniques
- Strong cooking skills with proficiency in food handling and safety standards
- Culinary experience including knife skills, meal preparation, and food industry knowledge
- Restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to health regulations
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
