Medical Assistant Skills
- Take patients back for appointments and obtain/record vitals, review medication list, update any major historical changes, and prepare the chart for their examination.
- Set up EKG machine and perform test successful
- Administer injections.
- Perform specimen collections including phlebotomy, nasal swabs and throat cultures.
- Perform x-rays (training on site)
- Prepare equipment and exam rooms, and clean instruments.
- Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment exam rooms with appropriate supplies
- Familiarity with electronic medical records software (Allscripts Professional experience a plus)
- Able to multi-task and take direction from multiple people
- Willingness to learn new tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, and coworkers
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
Receptionist Job Skills (Not Required)
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.

Work Experience / Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred
- 1+ years experience (Preferred)
