Yard Laborer / Equipment Operator
Estes Material Sales – Hope, Indiana
Estes Material Sales is looking for a hardworking, dependable team member to join our yard operations team. This is a hands-on position working in a fast-paced masonry and landscape supply yard.
This role includes operating equipment, helping customers, pulling and staging orders, handling materials, and assisting with daily yard operations and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, skid steers (Bobcat), loaders, and other yard equipment
- Pull, stage, and load customer orders accurately
- Assist walk-in customers with loading materials and product questions
- Sort and handle natural stone and landscape boulders
- Run soil products through screening equipment
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Keep yard clean, organized, and safe
- Assist with inventory organization and material handling
- Work alongside team members to keep daily operations running efficiently
Qualifications
- Proficient and comfortable operating heavy equipment including forklift, bobcat, loaders, and other types of lifts.
- Mechanically minded with willingness to learn equipment and operations
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to safely lift up to 80 lbs. regularly, twist, and climb.
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Good attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, order picking, load & unload operations in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
