We are looking for a professional, organized, and compassionate Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, managing patient communications, and supporting our medical staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointment confirmations and rescheduling.
- Maintain accurate patient records both electronic and paper and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Verify and update patient insurance and contact information.
- Handle incoming calls, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence.
- Maintain reception area: clean, organized, professional appearance
- Assist with medical collections as needed.
- Utilize EHR systems such as Simple Practice, DocVilla, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for patient data management.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is a plus.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
- Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management, and insurance processes.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to type efficiently (40 key typing).
- Excellent communication skills-- both verbal and written.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish (a plus, not required)
