Job Summary
We are urgently hiring compassionate and dedicated Caregiver Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient-centered care, with experience in assisting individuals with diverse needs including seniors, those with disabilities, or individuals requiring memory or dementia care. As a Caregiver PCA, you will play a vital role in supporting patients’ daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being in various settings such as home health, assisted living, or community environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, noting changes in condition and reporting to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe patient transfers while practicing proper body mechanics.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and ensuring infection control standards are met.
- Support patients during outings or community activities to promote independence and social engagement.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining patient safety.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed care plans accurately.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
