Position Overview
We’re seeking a Field Engineer to perform inspections and light maintenance on telecommunication towers and related structures. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, traveling, and contributing to the reliability of critical communications systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of telecommunication structures, mounts, foundations, and associated equipment
- Climb and assess towers safely, following company and industry safety protocols
- Prepare detailed inspection reports summarizing findings and recommendations
- Follow a rotating 10-on / 4-off schedule:
- 7 days in the field conducting inspections
- 3 days in the office completing reports, ongoing training, project planning, and supporting other departments
Secondary Responsibilities
- Perform minor tower maintenance and light construction tasks using hand and power tools
- Assist with rigging and other structural field activities
- Support engineering and service teams on special projects requiring on-site assistance
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying outdoor conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Field, or related discipline preferred (not required)
- NDT Level II or III certification (mag particle) is highly desirable
