The Opportunity:
Harken is seeking an Assembler to join our team. This role is responsible for successfully performing mechanical assembly and meeting production standards. This role requires the ability to use common hand tools and operate assembly machines.
What you will do:
- Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Follow prescribed safety regulations
- Learn the principles, practices and processes of the Assembly function.
- Develop the technical knowledge required for all aspects of the role.
- Operate all equipment safely and effectively.
- Model a positive outlook, act in a professional manner and demonstrate a positive work ethic.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Contribute to identifying problems, improving processes and implementing appropriate solutions to support reducing lead times and improving through-put and cost.
- Accept responsibility for your actions and be open to receiving constructive feedback from other employees or Supervisors.
- Be prepared to work in any area of Assembly to support business needs.
- Perform rework as instructed.
- Provide training, as requested, to other employees.
- Demonstrate dependability, attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work.
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
Key Skills for Success include:
- Ability to use common hand tools and operate assembly machines
- Ability to use basic math, including, adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions.
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
