About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Client Accounting Specialist to manage accounting operations for a diverse portfolio of business clients. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships while serving as a trusted resource for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and operational support.
You'll have the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with experienced accounting and tax professionals to help clients make informed financial decisions. This position is fully remote with occasional travel for client meetings and firm trainings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of business clients.
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related payroll tax filings as needed.
- Analyze financial information, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing timely communication and exceptional service.
- Assist clients with accounting software utilization, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with tax professionals by preparing organized financial information for year-end tax compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality while ensuring work meets firm quality standards and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
- Experience managing accounting responsibilities for multiple clients is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting software.
- Payroll processing experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines while working independently.
