Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist/Patient Coordinator to join our team. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, can multitask in a fast-paced medical office, and is eager to learn medical insurance verification and DME procedures.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors professionally.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information.
- Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and identification.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Create and maintain patient files (paper and electronic).
- Upload and scan documents into patient records.
- Process referrals from physician offices.
- Request missing documentation, including prescriptions, office notes, and supporting medical records.
- Communicate with physicians' offices regarding incomplete orders.
- Track pending orders and follow up within 48–72 hours.
- Schedule patient deliveries and coordinate with the delivery department.
- Answer patient questions regarding order status.
- Maintain accurate documentation in company software.
- Collect patient emails for portal registration and secure communication.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Assist with general administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous medical office, receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification is a plus.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent communication and phone etiquette.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.

- Office Ally or similar medical software
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
