Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced DW RN Supervisor/Charge Nurse to lead our nursing team with energy and expertise. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care across diverse clinical units.
- Serve as the charge nurse, providing hands-on patient assessments, critical decision-making, and immediate problem resolution.
- Ensure adherence to all healthcare policies, procedures, and regulatory standards including HIPAA, long-term care regulations, and state healthcare laws.
- Oversee medical documentation accuracy using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
- Manage patient care plans involving complex medical procedures such as ventilator management, IV infusion, catheter care, and tube feeding.
- Facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, case managers, and families to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Lead staff training on topics like infection control, medication administration, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and emergency protocols including airway management and ventilator use.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with active state registration.
- Extensive critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II Trauma Center settings.
- Proven supervisory or charge nurse experience managing nursing teams in acute or long-term care environments.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), sterile techniques, and basic life support (BLS).
- Excellent managerial communication skills with a focus on team management and patient advocacy.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and long-term care standards.
- Additional qualifications such as ICU experience, dialysis knowledge, medical-surgical expertise, or pediatric care are highly desirable.
