Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, extensions, and texturizing treatments to meet each client’s unique needs.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness according to industry regulations to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
- Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client information, and process retail sales efficiently.
- Engage with clients through clear communication about hair care routines, product recommendations, and service options to enhance their experience.
- Upsell retail products like hair care items and accessories to support clients’ ongoing beauty routines while increasing salon revenue.
- Assist with front desk duties such as greeting clients, managing appointments, and handling payments with retail math accuracy.
- Mentor junior team members or apprentices by sharing techniques in hair styling, coloring, and sanitation practices to foster a collaborative environment.
Skills
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of hair styling, coloring, and extensions.
- Proficiency with salon management software like MINDBODY for scheduling and sales tracking.
- Expertise in hair care techniques including color theory, hair coloring, barbering skills such as straight razor shaves, and nail or eyelash extension services.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards to ensure a hygienic workspace at all times.
- Excellent communication skills for client consultation and personalized service delivery.
- Ability to perform retail sales through upselling techniques while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Strong understanding of store management principles including front desk operations and retail math calculations.
