Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Project Engineer is a full-time exempt position. This person will assist in developing accurate and reliable estimates for multiple, simultaneous projects. This position supports the overall management of a construction project through contract document control, scheduling, materials procurement, cost control, and regulatory compliance.
In this role, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Compile and organize plans and files. Review project to understand scope of work.
- Review and interpret the contract document and verify that it does not deviate from the architectural drawings.
- Track submittals to match the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule to ascertain procurement and delivery of all material for the job.
- Review and interpret documents from the architect on an on-going basis. Determine additional costs, the impact to the schedule, etc.
- Develop the job schedule by meeting with all subcontractors and assist in developing their schedules. Incorporate subcontractor schedules with job schedule.
- Work closely with team to maintain project compliance of scheduling, quality control, safety control and other related activities.
- Follow-up with RFI's to the design team
- Work with team to accomplish project completion by securing documents including as-builts, warranties, O&M's, and punch list control.
- Understand and interpret the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manual for the customer
- Observe all areas of the construction jobsite in performance of the listed duties and expectations.
- Develop pricing and overall pricing strategies, work closely with team in the development to ensure accurate estimates and assumptions meet project requirements.
· Assist in oversight of profit and loss relating to assigned projects and accurately forecast margin projections.

Core Requirements:
- 4 years construction management - applicable degree and 2+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor firm.
- Must be able to read and understand architectural drawings & specifications and technical standards.
- Position requires an acceptable background check per company standards.
- Position requires a clean driving record and valid driver's license.
- OSHA 10 Certified.
- Must be able to reside in Salida during the work week.
Position requires an acceptable background check and drug screening per company standards.
Compensation for This Position:
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 and will depend on candidate’s experience and capabilities in their role. In addition, the current standard company benefits including paid time off, health, FSA (Flexible Spending Account), dental, vision and life insurance eligibility will be offered per company policy for employees, which is the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Eligibility for company 401(k) plan will take place per company policy and fulfillment of a 60 day wait period. Employer pays 95% for the employee’s health and dental premium and 55% for the dependents’ premium.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
