Position Summary: Rapidly expanding Interventional Pain Management Practice with multiple locations seeks to hire Nurse Practitioner for part time employment. Employee will work with physician and independently at times diagnosing and treating new and established patients with physician step-ins. Will prescribe physical therapy, interventional procedures and medications and educate patients about treatments and medications.
This is a travel position. Applicants must possess valid driver’s license and reliable automobile.
No Calls, No week-ends, No Inpatient Hospital care
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, obtaining, updating and studying medical histories
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and MRIs
- Document patient care services by charting in patient electronic records
- Perform therapeutic procedures as needed
- Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens
- Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans
- Prescribe medication as needed
- Provide assistance to physician during medical procedures
- Comply with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies
- Perform other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Nursing with advanced skills in physical assessment
Certified as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner
Current DEA certificate
NYS mandated Infection Control Course Certificate
Current BLS and ACLS certification
At least 1 year of current experience within the last 3 years in a clinical setting
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proficiency with Windows, MS Word, experience with an EMR is preferred
Excellent customer service skills and abilities.
Must have strong interpersonal skills to with work patients and maintain goals and visions of the organization
Excellent oral and written English communication skills – Spanish or Creole a plus
Must be strong multi-tasker with high level of initiative and follow-through
High level of professionalism
Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills
