Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and manage appointment scheduling using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists to support accurate patient documentation
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, taking X-rays, administering medications, and performing basic life support when needed
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all medical supplies are stocked and organized for efficient workflow
- Manage medical records with precision, including charting in EMR/EHR systems, ICD coding for diagnoses, and updating patient files
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, processing insurance forms, verifying patient insurance coverage, and managing patient intake forms
- Support hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or urgent care settings by assisting with procedures like IV insertions or trauma assessments in Level I or Level II trauma centers
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting with proficiency in medical administrative support and clinical procedures
- Hands-on experience in dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or hospital environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding to accurately document patient encounters
- Demonstrated ability to operate EMR/EHR systems effectively for documentation and scheduling purposes
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred for supporting emergency situations
- Experience working in hospital medicine or inpatient settings such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics units, or surgical clinics enhances your versatility
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures or phlebotomy techniques adds value to your clinical skill set
