Project Manager – Utility Programs

Location: Onsite at National Grid – Northborough, MA
Type: Contract 6 months with likely renewal
UPA is the employer of record. Role supports National Grid’s MA operations onsite in Northborough.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
Estimated range: $58– $65 per hour.
Personnel in these roles shall:
- Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in partnership with stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Lead cross-functional teams through planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Establish clear communication and governance structures, producing regular progress updates and escalation reports.
- Manage dependencies across workstreams and coordinate resource allocation to optimize performance.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive resolution of issues that could impact timelines or quality.
- Support and facilitate post-implementation review, lessons learned, and continuous improvement efforts.
Key competencies include:
- Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, PMI, or hybrid)
- Stakeholder engagement, financial and schedule management
- The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex environments
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred
- AA or BS preferred. Extensive, related professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
