The Procurement Specialist will carry out broad assignments involving the purchase of items requiring knowledge and experience, usually involving responsibility for a high volume of purchases. Reports to the Sr. Procurement Manager in the Manufacturing Department.
Responsibilities

Reviews requisitions and issues purchase orders to the optimum advantage of the company based on value, quality, delivery, and price

Recommends changes or substitutes when specific materials are not available or when quality may be improved or costs reduced

Works with the Program Office, Manufacturing and Engineering to provide updated statuses as needed on all open Purchase Orders

Assists in the selection of qualified suppliers through facility inspection and personal inquiry and adjudicates difference between CEC and vendors

Obtains quotations as required and selects vendors

Performs liaison between requisitioning departments and suppliers

May provide Production Control with quantity price break information and necessary lead-time required for economic lot purchases.

Advises Sr. Procurement Manager on status of open orders periodically to determine action to be taken on delinquent orders.

Reviews rejected parts as to source and makes final disposition

Qualifications

2 years of experience with finance and vendor + data management experience, combined

Associate’s degree
-
Experience purchasing electronic parts (EEE) and equipment

Working knowledge of Contract Accounting

Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint

Cost point experience is a plus

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Pay may range from $63,000 to $83,000 annually
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.
