We produce and sell handcrafted swords and other historical weaponry. Many of our sales occur at festivals across the United States, or via our website. Every piece we make has multiple components; blade, guard, pommel, handle and scabbard. Entry level crew members will learn how to do many different tasks over their first year. We have openings in our polishing and machining departments currently.
Our current schedule is Monday through Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm. All hours worked in a single week over 40 is paid at time and a half pay, and any hours worked over 50 is paid at double the base pay rate. Currently, optional overtime is available to employees that have worked at Sabersmith over 90 days. This optional overtime is from 6 am to 8 am M - F, making the shift 6 am to 4:30, with optional Saturday hours also available.

Responsibilities
- Prepare metal surfaces for polishing by cleaning, deburring, and ensuring proper alignment of workpieces.
- Operate grinding, polishing, and basic machining equipment to achieve specified finishes and tolerances.
- Monitor and adjust machine controls, tooling, and speeds to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect parts for defects, perform basic quality checks, and document results.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow safety protocols during all tasks.
Summary
Entry Level Position (Metal Polishing and Machining) involves hands-on work in metal fabrication, polishing, and basic machining tasks. You will support machine operators and quality control by interpreting production documents, and performing precise polishing and light machining as needed. This role emphasizes mechanical knowledge, precision, and a willingness to learn CNC programming concepts and shop math. Reports to the shop supervisor and contributes to efficient manufacturing, smooth workflow, and high-quality metal parts.
