The Ohio Valley Youth Network (OVYN) is seeking caring, dependable, and energetic Independent Youth Contractors to serve in our After School Enrichment (ASE) program. Our program provides a safe, engaging, and encouraging environment where students can learn, build relationships, and discover new interests after school.

Program Schedule
- Training Week: September 21–25, 2026
- Student Program: September 28 – December 3, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Future contractor opportunities may become available based on program needs and mutual interest.
Compensation
- $15.00 to $20.00 per hour
- Paid upon approval of a monthly invoice
- Assignments generally not to exceed 120 hours per month unless approved in advance
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Supervise students in a safe and positive environment
- Assist with academic support, enrichment activities, and recreation
- Encourage respectful behavior and positive relationships
- Help lead games, crafts, STEM, arts, or other activities
- Assist with attendance, student transitions, and daily operations
- Serve snacks and assist with setup and cleanup
- Work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, parents, and school personnel
- Follow all child safety, supervision, and mandatory reporting requirements
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- A genuine interest in working with youth
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability, professionalism, and good judgment
- The ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children
- Experience working with children, camps, schools, churches, sports, tutoring, or youth organizations is preferred but not required
Required Before Beginning Work
Successful applicants must complete OVYN's contractor onboarding process, including:
- Independent Contractor Agreement
- Contractor Application
- Ohio BCI criminal background check
- Government-issued photo ID
- IRS Form W-9
- Child Safety Orientation
- Planning Center profile setup
- Any additional documentation required for the assignment

The Ohio Valley Youth Network operates the Sycamore Youth Center and serves hundreds of children each week through free after-school programs, summer camps, mentoring, leadership development, recreation, arts, academic support, and community partnerships. Our mission is to provide children with safe, supportive environments where they can grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
