Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of technical assignments to assist the Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Quality departments. Professionally interact with customers and vendors as needed. In general, this position will focus on compiling, reviewing, and monitoring data to assure accuracy and compliance with Poly Vinyl Co. systems.
Duties
- Prepare FAV and or PPAP for new or revised products
- Implement inspection tools to assure proper awareness
- Determine where gage R&R’s are needed and interpret the results of the R&R
- Initiate FMEA’s where potential failures could occur and implement corrective measures to significantly reduce or prevent them
- Maintain the APQP system (control plans, flow charts, FMEA, part layout, capabilities, gage R&R and letters of explanation)
- Determine controlled dimensions
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas and confer with manager or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
- Contact customers to resolve issues or concerns regarding complaints
- Interact with personnel from other departments, guiding, mentoring and assisting them with quality methodologies, applications and issues
- Active involvement with digital scanning systems for FAV/PPAP and production requirements
- Setup and maintain quality data in software application databases
- Audit production lines to verify acceptable product is being produced
- Communicate discrepancies
- Initiate corrective actions and or Quality Alerts
- Identify, contain, and report on non-conforming product (Hold Tags)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality field may be considered.
- Previous work in a plastic manufacturing environment helpful but not required.
- Proven experience in the use of standard measuring tools and equipment.
- Experience with quality assurance software.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers and vendors at all levels of an organization.
- Strong analytical skills.
Pay: $66,000.00 - $82,668.95 per year
