We are hiring a part-time server for our UPMC Headquarters Kitchen. If you are someone with full-service dining or catering experience, then this could be the perfect position for you!
This part-time position primarily work two to three days a week as scheduled, mostly daylight shifts, Monday through Friday.
The Lead Server Assistant provides professional level service to the department and event attendees. They are responsible for set-up, service and clean-up of all assigned meetings, functions and events. They have the ability to prioritize and appropriately handle all catering requests, in a professional, pleasant and congenial manner, and effectively communicate with their manager to assure that all requests are handled completely, accurately and timely.

Responsibilities:
- Effectively contribute excellence in service to the operations of the Business and Corporate Events team.

Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen and observe all safety and sanitation procedures. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs required Long periods of standing required

Effectively maintain a professional atmosphere with all levels of faculty, staff, peers and visitors.

Demonstrates: personal responsibility to ensure 100% accuracy in every aspect of the job; a take charge attitude to ensure all assignments are executed completely and accurately; and responsibility in punctuality.

Ensure delivery, set and clean-up of all catered activities on multiple floors throughout the building.

Supervisor is informed of any problems that may arise in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Carries out job duties in a manner that is consistent with the service management vision of UPMC which includes the demonstration of appropriate behavior toward management, staff, peers and visitors.

Meet and discuss with the manager the expectations of the kitchen operations; disseminate this information to all support staff and assure that events occur appropriately.

Responsible for executing the set-up, service, and clean-up of all catered functions and requests with limited supervision.

Ensure all equipment, linens, service ware, and glassware are clean and sanitized prior to use.
