American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week night shift contract at an acute care hospital using Epic EMR.

Acute care hospital setting in a Respiratory Therapy department

Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
-
Every other weekend (EOW) required

On-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours may be required per department and/or facility policy

Charting performed in Epic EMR

13-week contract
-
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
-
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
-
CRT credential via NBRC required; RRT also acceptable
-
Active state or compact (NLC) licensure required — pending licenses will not be accepted (license required if applicable)

Active certifications required (pending not accepted): ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP, and PALS
-
Prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred

Valid driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility; a driver's license is used to verify permanent address

Responsibilities include patient assessments, care plan development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of therapy plans as needed

Performs diagnostic testing including ABGs, PFTs, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, bronchoscopy, and pulse oximetry

Transports patients within the hospital or between facilities

Position may require flexible hours before or after standard shifts, as well as overtime

Candidates must be physically present at the facility for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
