Store Manager - Tire & Auto Service
Nashua Wholesale Tire and Auto is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operation of our busy tire and automotive repair facility. This position combines team leadership, customer service, sales, workflow management, and hands-on automotive knowledge.
The Store Manager is responsible for creating a productive, customer-focused environment while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and accountability. The right candidate will be a confident leader who can motivate employees, solve problems, build customer relationships, and take ownership of the store's overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate technicians, service advisors, and support staff while creating a positive, respectful, and productive workplace.
- Daily Operations: Oversee all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing, scheduling, workflow, job assignments, customer service, and shop organization.
- Performance Management: Set clear expectations, monitor employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and hold team members accountable for productivity, attendance, quality, and conduct.
- Workflow Management: Prioritize and assign work based on technician skill, customer needs, parts availability, and promised completion times.
- Customer Service: Build lasting customer relationships, explain recommended services clearly, resolve concerns professionally, and ensure a consistently positive experience.
- Sales Leadership: Help the team identify customer needs, prepare accurate estimates, present appropriate service recommendations, and meet store sales goals without compromising trust.
- Quality Control: Review completed repairs, verify workmanship and documentation, and ensure vehicles are returned safely and correctly.
- Financial Performance: Monitor sales, labor productivity, expenses, and other key performance measures to support the store's profitability and long-term growth.
- Inventory and Vendor Management: Oversee tire, parts, and supply inventory; minimize waste; maintain accurate records; and coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Hiring and Development: Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining dependable employees while supporting their continued professional growth.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce company policies, workplace safety procedures, and applicable regulations while maintaining a clean and organized facility.
- Technical Support: Use automotive knowledge to assist employees, review repair recommendations, and perform or support hands-on work when business needs require it.
Requirements
- Prior management or supervisory experience in an automotive repair, tire, dealership, or related service environment
- Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance, repair services, tires, and shop workflow
- Proven ability to lead employees, manage performance, and maintain accountability
- Excellent customer service, communication, sales, and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to review estimates, repair orders, labor performance, inventory, and operating results
- Sound judgment and a practical, solutions-focused approach to problems
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive customer vehicles
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Basic computer and point-of-sale system proficiency
- Dependable attendance and schedule flexibility based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Several years of automotive service management experience
- Experience managing store sales, labor productivity, expenses, and profitability
- ASE certifications or comparable automotive training
- Experience hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating employees
- Familiarity with tire sales, parts ordering, inventory control, and vendor relationships
