Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Electrical Installations:
- Support journeyman electricians with the installation of electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Help with wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures.
- Maintain Tools and Equipment:
- Organize and maintain tools and materials needed for electrical work.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to a supervisor.
- Learn and Follow Safety Protocols:
- Adhere to safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines.
- Understand Electrical Codes and Regulations:
- Study and familiarize yourself with electrical codes and standards relevant to the job.
- Assist in ensuring that all work complies with local and national electrical codes.
- Conduct Basic Electrical Tasks:
- Perform basic electrical tasks under supervision, including testing circuits, troubleshooting minor issues, and making simple repairs.
- Learn to use electrical testing devices and instruments.
- Complete Training and Education:
- Participate in on-the-job training and attend relevant classes or workshops as required.
- Continuously improve knowledge of electrical theory, practices, and technologies.
- Assist with Documentation and Reporting:
- Help document work performed and report progress to supervisors.
- Keep accurate records of tasks completed and any issues encountered.
- Communicate Effectively:
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate clearly about tasks and progress.
- Ask questions and seek guidance from experienced electricians to enhance learning.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems & 1 year of experience.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying tools and materials.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measurements.
- Previous experience or coursework in electrical technology (not mandatory)
- Minimum 1 year experience in the electrical field.
