Director of Development and Alumni Relations
The International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP), a graduate school located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Development and Alumni Relations.
The Director of Development and Alumni Relations will be responsible for advancing the IIRP’s mission by cultivating consistent contributed revenue and deepening lifelong engagement with alumni. This role leads the design and execution of a comprehensive advancement strategy that increases donor investment, expands fundraising capacity, and strengthens connection to the institution and its model programs.
Physical requirements for this position include navigating to the Bethlehem office a minimum of one day per week, traveling when required and the ability to lift a minimum of twenty (20) pounds.

Key responsibilities of the Director of Developmental and Alumni Relations will be:

Strategic Fundraising & Advancement

Design and implement a comprehensive development strategy aligned with IIRP’s strategic priorities

Build and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, securing philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, and partners

Lead annual giving, major gifts, and emerging planned giving initiatives

Identify new funding opportunities that support academic programs, scholarships, and institutional growth

Track and report fundraising progress, ensuring accountability and transparency
Alumni Engagement & Relations

Develop and execute a global alumni engagement strategy reflective of IIRP’s diverse community

Strengthen alumni participation in giving, mentoring, advocacy, and program engagement

Oversee alumni communications, storytelling, and engagement efforts

Plan and support alumni events, and networking opportunities
Leadership & Collaboration

Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and faculty in advancing institutional priorities

Collaborate across departments to align messaging, identify funding needs, and amplify impact stories

Build and scale development and alumni relations infrastructure and processes
Events & Donor Engagement

Design and execute meaningful donor and alumni experiences that reflect the IIRP’s relational values

Representing the IIRP externally to cultivate partnerships and increase visibility
Systems & Data Stewardship

Oversee donor and alumni data management, ensuring integrity and strategic use of CRM systems

Use data analytics to measure and report results, inform strategy and improve engagement outcomes

Ensure adherence to ethical fundraising standards and best practices
The Director of Developmental and Alumni Relations must possess the following qualifications:

Master’s degree required; or equivalent experience

5+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, advancement, or nonprofit development

Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and building donor relationships

Strong alignment with the IIRP’s mission and values of restorative practices
Preferred qualifications include:

Experience in higher education, graduate education, or mission-driven organizations

Experience engaging diverse, global alumni populations

Familiarity with donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce)

Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification

Experience with tax advantage programs
