Bedford, MA based manufacturer of analyte, blood gas, and chemistry analyzers seeks a dynamic Supply Chain professional to oversee supply chain responsibilities for an established 150-employee entrepreneurial organization.
Summary
We are looking for a senior-level individual to join our team and become responsible for the planning of subassemblies and finished goods for our bench-top analyzers and consumable products. The Master Scheduler / Planning Supervisor is responsible for scheduling the master production plan which will suffice predetermined product stocking levels and customer order requirements. Through utilization of best planning practices, analysis and reporting, and excellent communication, the Master Scheduler / Planning Supervisor will translate Sales Forecasts into achievable manufacturing schedules that ensure on-time delivery to customer orders, as well as level loading of the manufacturing facility.
The Master Scheduler / Planning Supervisor will be responsible for issuing, tracking, and adjusting manufacturing work orders, and maintaining a Master Production Schedule that supports Medica’s needs. This role will develop and publish metrics for tracking manufacturing performance and revenue goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities
· Act as a communication conduit among Production, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and Quality in determining material availability and resource constraints, and developing production plans that meet customer and business needs
· Manage the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
· Enter and maintain planning information in the ERP system based on sales forecasts and open customer orders
· Maintains the Master Production Schedule for all manufacturing areas of the business; review and adjust the MPS to account for changes in customer requirements or delays in raw materials, resources, or production equipment
· Works with Supply Chain to ensure raw materials are scheduled to support the MPS
· Works with Production Supervisors and advises on priorities
· Confirms inventory accuracy by part number and lot number
· Responds to Customer Service requests to accommodate customer schedule changes relative to the Forecast
· Develops, maintains, and monitors daily build schedules and report issues affecting targets with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, or others as needed
· Maintains integrity of all data and planning parameters in order to maximize manufacturing efficiencies
· Manages production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of all customer orders
· Takes the lead or assist in writing and updating Procedures and documenting processes to facilitate change management
· Engages in process improvement projects with interconnecting departments to ensure positive, clear communication of build priorities
· Defines reports and messaging methods to ensure priorities are communicated clearly
· Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 10 years of related experience
· High level of knowledge in material planning and manufacturing processes
· Comprehensive knowledge of supply/demand process and analysis
· Aptitude to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up, anticipate changes
· Strong knowledge of MRP and ERP systems, preferably Fourth Shift
· Ability to learn, understand, and use existing MS Access and SQL Databases
· High-level MS Excel skills (comfortable with imports/exports, writing formulas - xlookup, pivot tables, multi-tab spreadsheets, etc.)
· Excellent communication skills (oral and written), proficiency with MS Office / preparing PowerPoint presentations
· Ability to work well with others to help manage change in the organization
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high demand environment
· Capable of solving practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
· APICS certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply chain Professional (CSCP) a plus
· Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus
