Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This energetic position combines clinical support with front desk responsibilities, requiring a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing outstanding patient service. You will be the first point of contact for patients and assist with clinical procedures, administrative tasks, and medical record management to create a welcoming and efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and handing necessary supplies
- Collect patient information, verify insurance coverage, and handle medical billing using health insurance knowledge and coding systems like CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10
- Maintain accurate medical records and review documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
- Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries professionally, schedule appointments via dental clinic software, and coordinate patient flow efficiently
- Support administrative functions including filing, data entry with 10-key typing skills, and managing electronic health records (EHR) management
- Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient information
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental clinic or medical office setting with strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms
- Familiarity with medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for accurate documentation review and billing processes
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks
- Ability to perform clerical duties such as filing, multi-line phone operation, typing (including 10-key), and managing electronic health records efficiently
- Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare and other providers’ requirements
- Prior dental clinic experience is highly preferred; familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies is essential
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and care plan coordination
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism under pressure

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
