Overview
We are seeking a well rounded, team player to be a part of our Veterinary Technician team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for animals, assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures, and ensuring the well-being of our furry patients. This position requires a strong background in animal care, Including but not limited to Animal Handling and holding for vaccines and blood draws, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique is maintained.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to assist in diagnosing animal health issues.
- Provide animal restraint during examinations and treatments to ensure safety for both the animal and staff.
- Handle and care for animals with compassion, including grooming and basic training as needed.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the veterinarian promptly.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and wellness practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of veterinary critical care practices and procedures.
- Willing to train in laboratory techniques and X-ray procedures
- Advanced skills in dog handling, training, and overall animal care.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Aseptic technique knowledge is essential for maintaining a sterile environment during procedures.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
