Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CT - Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. This vital role involves operating advanced computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate patient diagnosis and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of radiologic imaging procedures, patient care, and radiation safety protocols. Key responsibilities include performing complex CT scans across various clinical settings, including emergency rooms, urgent care centers, and specialized radiology departments. The CT - Technologist will also assist with other imaging modalities such as sonography, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine procedures. Ensuring adherence to radiation safety procedures and implementing aseptic techniques are fundamental aspects of this role.

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (possible extension)

- Travel Pay: $2,600/week for 36 hours.
Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners and related radiologic imaging equipment with precision to produce diagnostic-quality images.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort.
- Follow established radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Assist with a variety of imaging modalities including sonography, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed and ensure accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with physicians and radiologists to facilitate diagnostic evaluations in urgent care, emergency room, or trauma settings.
- Implement aseptic techniques during interventional radiology procedures to prevent infections.
- Monitor patient physiology during procedures and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and participate in ongoing training.
- Support the department’s compliance with all regulatory standards related to radiation safety and patient care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) with specialization in CT imaging.
- Proven experience in urgent care settings, emergency rooms, or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating CT scanners along with other radiologic equipment such as ultrasound machines, mammography units, DEXA scanners, PET scanners, fluoroscopy units, and nuclear medicine equipment.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
- Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection protocols.
- Experience performing interventional radiography and working within interventional radiology suites is advantageous.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques necessary for invasive procedures.
