Description:
Performs a variety of duties related to authorizations of medications as well as medication gap closures.
Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list):

Schedule appointments, direct walk-in patients and emergencies per established policies and procedures

Answer all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate staff

Attend to patient inquiries and requests

Call patients to help close gaps for medications compliance and refills

Obtain insurance pre-authorizations for medications as specified by the provider
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Education:

High school graduate or equivalent
-
Must be eligible for registry with the NC Board of Pharmacy and register within 6 months
Skills:

Ability to comprehend and follow instructions

Knowledge of drug names, basic math, medical terminology, basic computer skills

Maintain strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

Familiarity with regulatory standards

Ability for rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously

Knowledge of age specific standards, such as: adjusting pediatric dosages based on age/weight, and adjusting geriatric dosage based on age/kidney functions, under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
