Position Summary: The Nursing Supervisor is part of a dual Supervisory team and responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Clinical Assistants and Clinical Support Team Specialists for a designated site under the direction of the Nursing Manager, and in collaboration with fellow Nursing Supervisor and Team Lead.
Essential Functions
- New Employee orientation.
- Staff training on clinical workflows.
- Coordinate BLS classes and other required training.
- Timecard review and approval.
- Assist with staffing coverage and schedules in collaboration with Nurse Lead.
- Participates in call rotation with other Supervisor and Nurse Manager for weekend coverage.
- Actively works in the clinical departments as needed to meet staffing requirements.
- Monitor staff productivity and job performance for designated sites; may provide performance review feedback to Manager.
- May collaborate with Human Resources on recruitment initiatives and other employee relations issues.
- Work with Manager on development and implementation of nursing workflows.
- Assist with bloodborne pathogen exposures and other employee health duties, including new employee Mantoux testing and yearly N95 mask fit testing.
- Ensure safety checkpoints and operational requirements of clinical products such as AED, battery backup, MnVFC temperature logs, crash boxes, autoclave logs, etc.
- Oversee the MnVFC program.
- Review new product requests and/or changes with Nurse Manager.
- Serves as EPIC superuser & credentialed trainer and assists with EMR concerns and investigations.
- Assist with nursing meeting plans and goals.
- Leads team in a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of nursing workflows and general clinical operations.
- Ability to supervise and integrate staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Elevated comfort level and experience with EMR systems, Epic experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards.
- Excellent verbal, written, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and integrate priorities and deadlines.
Education/Qualifications Requirements:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of MN.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
