Account Executive – Medical Billing
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Account Executive to serve as the primary point of contact for our medical billing clients. This role is responsible for overseeing assigned provider accounts, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the medical billing process moves forward efficiently. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service while collaborating closely with our billing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned healthcare providers and practice managers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication.
- Monitor the overall health and progress of assigned accounts.
- Review account performance and identify billing issues, trends, or areas requiring attention.
- Coordinate with billing specialists to ensure claims are submitted, followed up on, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Communicate outstanding documentation, coding questions, credentialing updates, and other items needed to keep the revenue cycle moving.
- Schedule and conduct regular account review meetings with providers.
- Educate clients on billing processes, payer requirements, and best practices.
- Escalate complex billing issues and work with internal teams to develop solutions.
- Track open tasks and ensure timely follow-up until issues are resolved.
- Maintain accurate notes and documentation of client communications.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve workflows and enhance the client experience.
- Assist with onboarding new clients and ensuring a smooth transition into our billing services.
Qualifications
- Experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, healthcare administration, or account management preferred.
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical insurance claims and billing processes is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple provider accounts simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and medical billing software.
- Professional, positive, and client-focused attitude.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of commercial insurance.
- Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) and practice management systems.
- Ability to analyze reports and identify revenue cycle trends.
- Experience managing client relationships in a healthcare setting.
