Overview: Senior Investment Management and Financial Planning Strategist (non-client facing). Prepares financial advisors for client meetings. Performs advanced investment and insurance research, portfolio construction, and financial plan creation. Reporting to the head of Planning & Research, the candidate should aspire to grow into a shared team leadership role. This role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and navigating complex client objectives.
Responsibilities:
Investment Management:
1. Research investment markets and products
2. Perform investment portfolio construction
3. Participate in non-client facing investment meetings with internal team, external wholesalers, and portfolio managers
4. Generate reports on model investments
5. Model trading
Financial Planning:
1. Create complex financial plans
2. Understanding of Executive Incentive Compensation
3. Research and gather reference material to answer client questions on all personal finance issues
Tax Planning:
1. Tax planning including but not limited to Roth Conversions, underpayment of taxes, etc.
Insurance & Risk Management:
1. Conduct research on annuities, life insurance, long-term disability income insurance, and long-term care insurance
2. Summarize and document existing annuities and insurance policies
3. Perform insurance need analyses
Other:
1. Participate in other projects and duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
1. Bachelor’s Degree required
2. 7+ years of experience in financial services industry required
3. 5+ years’ experience with planning software required
4. Substantial knowledge of investments required
5. Knowledge of tax and insurance a plus
6. CFP®, CFA or CPA certification preferred
7. CLU or ChFC a plus
8. Series 6 or 7 a plus
9. NJ Life & Health Insurance License a plus

Pay: $130,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
