An Industrial and Commercial Agricultural Electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems used in agricultural processing facilities, commercial buildings, irrigation systems, and industrial manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including 120V, 240V, 480V, and three-phase power systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using meters, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
- Install and service motor controls, contactors, relays, starters, and disconnects.
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems, HMIs, and automated control equipment.
- Install and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and soft starters.
- Perform electrical work on conveyors, pumps, compressors, fans, elevators, and production equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems, agricultural pumps, and control panels.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime.
- Install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC), pull wire, and terminate electrical panels.
- Maintain lighting systems, distribution panels, transformers, and switchgear.
- Troubleshoot sensors, instrumentation, and process control equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
- Support facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
- Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, production, and operations teams to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventories.

- Journeyman Electrician License or ET Card preferred
- 3–10+ years of industrial, commercial, or agricultural electrical experience
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA safety standards
- Experience with food processing, manufacturing, cold storage, agricultural operations, or processing plants
This position is commonly found in food processing plants, packing houses, dairies, nut processing facilities, agricultural operations, cold storage facilities, and commercial manufacturing environments.
