Division Manager
Reports to: COO
Based at: Grand Junction, Colorado
Join a leading landscape construction company based in Grand Junction, Colorado, as a Division Manager and play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of our construction department. Reporting directly to the COO, this position offers the opportunity to lead a talented team, manage high-impact projects, and contribute to the strategic direction of the division. Key responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Project Management:

Budget setup, including sub jobs and rate verification

Vendor / Subcontractor selection and buy-out

Procurement of bonds & insurance
-
Oversight of submittal process

Oversight of schedule management

Internal reporting, including monthly job cost forecast

Approval and proper coding of all vendor invoices

Preparation of customer billing and coordination of billing with accounts receivable admin.

Preparation of changes to the customer, and facilitation of change management process

Owner/Customer communications, including all change / delay notices

Oversight of safety program

Coordinate preconstruction meetings with operations manager and superintendent.

Assist operations manager scheduling upcoming work. Review and update construction schedules monthly.

Assist operations manager in dispatching tasks to construction crews.

Establish and review costs to complete reports per job each month.

Coordinate project turnover to maintenance department.

Coordinate job closeout meetings with superintendents. Verify all closeout documents are completed (As-builts, warranty letter, O&M Manuals)
Division Management:

Review backlog with preconstruction manager.

Assist in estimating within the divisions area of work.

Facilitate and foster the growth of the division through relationship building of existing clients and pursuit of new clients

Evaluate future equipment, truck and labor needs according to construction backlog.

Meet with operations manager on what they need now and in the next 5 days to come (personal, equipment, supplies)

Review all non-project purchasing for division.

Review monthly financials with executive leadership team.

Coordinate and share resources with the maintenance division.

Coordinate and facilitate all hiring and firing for the branch with the help of the human resource manager.

Meet with executive leadership team on future growth of the division.

Proven leadership ability; must serve as a role model in the areas of safety, quality, workplace conduct, attendance, etc.

Position Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent of 5+ years of related experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Drivers license
- Understanding of operations and cost dynamics
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Proven track record in operations
- Passionate about safety and eliminating risks
- People management and leadership capability
Work Environment:
- Primarily an in-office position but will require meeting with customers and traveling to jobsites as necessary. Some overnight travel may be required.
- May be required to operate motor vehicles.
- Reads and understands instructions; writes legible work reports and notes; communicates information and responds to questions individually and in small groups
- Must be able to operate software programs as required by company SOPs.
- Performs simple mathematical calculations by hand or using a calculator
- Applies common sense understanding to carry out simple written and oral instructions; deals with standardized situations or problems involving a few concrete variables
Compensation:
- Pay Type: Salary
- Pay Range: $85,000 to $105,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
- Other Compensation: Commissions based on project profitability. Bonus commensurate with company performance.
