About the Role:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in quality assurance, inspection, testing, and compliance activities within a manufacturing environment. The position focuses on sample collection, quality inspections, documentation, and adherence to quality control procedures to maintain product integrity, food safety, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Perform incoming raw material inspections and quality control testing to ensure compliance with specifications and standards

Conduct in-process and finished product inspections to verify quality, safety, and consistency requirements

Collect, label, and manage samples for laboratory testing and analysis

Execute testing and sampling procedures in accordance with SOPs, GMP, HACCP, and quality assurance protocols

Document inspection and testing results, maintain accurate quality records, and update quality management systems

Identify non-conforming materials or products, initiate corrective actions, and support root cause investigations

Collaborate with production, warehouse, procurement, and quality teams to resolve quality concerns

Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure proper handling and storage practices
-
Support internal audits, compliance inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure adherence to safety regulations, food safety requirements, and quality standards
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred

Experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing, food production, laboratory, or inspection environments

Knowledge of GMP, GFSI, BRC, SQF, HACCP, ISO standards, or other quality management systems

Familiarity with sampling techniques, inspection tools, measuring devices, and testing procedures

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and quality issues

Proficiency with documentation, data entry, and quality reporting systems
-
Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain compliance requirements

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and quality tracking software
Desired Qualifications:

Experience in food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, consumer products, pharmaceutical, or related regulated industries

Certification in HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense, Six Sigma, or CQI

Experience with laboratory testing, analytical equipment, or environmental monitoring programs

Knowledge of supplier quality programs and audit processes

Strong problem-solving skills and experience supporting corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
