Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Masonry Worker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of masonry tasks, contributing to the creation of durable and aesthetically appealing structures. Your expertise in brick, block and stone laying, re pointing, parging and caulking will be vital to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects including renovations, restorations, and new construction, all while honing your craft in a collaborative environment.
Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, stone, and other masonry materials with precision and craftsmanship.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to cut, shape, and finish masonry components.
- Apply finishing techniques such as concrete smoothing, parging, caulking, and tuck pointing for polished results.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary for material handling or site preparation.
- Support renovation and restoration projects by matching existing structures with appropriate masonry techniques.
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, metal stud framers, and other trades to coordinate project phases seamlessly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and inspecting tools regularly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction with a focus on masonry work projects is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers, as well as power tools like saws and drills.
- Experience operating heavy equipment related to masonry or general construction sites is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to construction sites including proper handling of materials
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively across trades during complex projects.
