The Webb School seeks dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-centered part-time tutors to support learners in grades 6–12 across mathematics, science, and reading. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping students build confidence, deepen understanding, and make meaningful connections in their learning.
Part-time tutors work collaboratively with faculty and academic support staff to provide individualized or small-group instruction tailored to student needs. Tutors play an important role in reinforcing classroom learning, strengthening foundational skills, and fostering habits that support long-term academic success.
Tutoring hours are available Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 4 PM. Scheduling is flexible within this window and will be coordinated based on student needs and tutor availability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individualized and small-group tutoring in math, science, and/or reading for students in grades 6–12
- Support students in developing subject-specific skills, conceptual understanding, and academic confidence
- Help students organize their work, manage time effectively, and approach learning with clarity and purpose
- Collaborate with teachers and academic support staff to align tutoring with classroom instruction and student goals
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and respectful learning environment
- Prior experience tutoring or teaching in math, science, reading, or related fields
- Strong content knowledge in one or more subject areas
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- A genuine passion for helping students learn and make meaning from their academic experiences
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with middle and high school students
- Familiarity with a range of instructional strategies and learning styles
- Patience, flexibility, and a collaborative mindset
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
