The Immigration Company (TIC) is a modern platform delivering immigration services to fast-growing businesses and enterprise clients. We combine deep legal expertise with proprietary technology to provide predictable guidance, airtight compliance, and strategic workforce solutions. Our mission is to power the future of innovation by building the infrastructure for global talent.
The Role
This role is for an attorney eager to operate at the cutting edge of legal AI. If you believe traditional legal workflows are broken and inefficient, this is your opportunity to fix them.
You will guide clients through regulatory complexity, helping them mitigate risk and enable compliance. You will operate at the intersection of high-stakes legal practice and AI engineering, handling sophisticated employment-based immigration matters while collaborating with product and engineering teams to build systems that transform the corporate immigration experience.
You will own the entire legal motion: advising clients on strategy, filing petitions, managing government correspondence, and architecting workflows that scale our leverage without sacrificing quality. This is not a role for someone looking to hand off work; you will own the details while building the macro systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute end-to-end filings across complex employment-based categories (H-1B, O-1, EB-1, EB-2 NIW, PERM, TN, E-3).
- Navigate regulatory challenges with precision, drafting robust responses to RFEs and USCIS correspondence with strategic foresight.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted corporate advisor, aligning immigration strategy with HR talent goals and compliance frameworks.
- Partner with engineering and design teams to translate complex legal logic into automated product workflows.
- Scale internal leverage by building standardized templates, processes, and training resources.
Qualifications
- 3+ years practicing employment-based immigration law, with a proven track record of independently managing corporate client accounts.
- J.D. or LL.M. from an accredited institution and active US bar admission.
- Proactive, client-obsessed, and highly reliable under heavy workloads. You pair strong communication with rigorous legal judgment to navigate ever-changing regulatory environments.
- Energized by ambiguity and the pace of an early-stage company. You see technology as an accelerant, not a threat.
- Thrive in an in-person environment in our NY / SF office.
Bonus: Startup experience / a track record of building teams.
