Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based ABA therapy protocols tailored to each client’s care plan, focusing on autism spectrum disorders support and neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, and feeding, to foster independence.
- Collect and analyze behavioral data during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Support clients in developing communication skills through direct behavioral therapy and teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including behavioral records, progress notes, and adherence to HIPAA regulations for client confidentiality.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to develop and update individualized care plans aligned with professional and ethical standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients’ families, caregivers, and educational staff to ensure consistency across environments and promote positive behavior management.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, especially within home-based or school settings, is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and implementing ABA therapy protocols.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical documentation practices related to behavioral health is advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Previous exposure to special education environments or home-based behavioral programs will support your effectiveness as an RBT.
- Strong client communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach are essential for building trusting relationships with clients and their families.
