Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on, and versatile Robot Service Technician to support the production, maintenance, and repair of next-generation self-driving delivery robots. In this role, you will act as a critical link between assembly, fleet operations, and field testing, handling a diverse range of responsibilities that span mechanical and electrical assembly, advanced troubleshooting, and local field support.
The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, a passion for robotics, and proven experience navigating fast-paced automotive, dealership service, or automated manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble intricate harnesses, cables, and connectors specifically designed for self-driving delivery robots.
- Install, calibrate, and replace advanced sensor suites, including LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and structural repairs across the active robot fleet to ensure maximum uptime.
- Diagnose technical breakdowns, investigate operational incidents, and execute specialized hardware service campaigns.
- Test and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical components, focusing on suspension systems and high-capacity batteries.
- Travel between local deployment locations to provide rapid, onsite hardware and software support when needed.
- Handle rapid prototyping assembly, initial system testing, and daily spare parts inventory management.
- Assist engineering teams with hands-on research and development experiments to contribute to next-generation project designs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical Experience: Strong background utilizing mechanical and electrical tools, including precise diagnostic and measuring equipment.
- Electrical Skills: Proven proficiency assembling and disassembling complex products, installing custom electronic modules, and working confidently with low-voltage AC/DC currents (soldering skills are a strong plus).
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately read, interpret, and follow 2D mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Preferred Background: Direct experience working in automotive plants, dealership service centers, robotics manufacturing, or similar high-precision technical environments.
- Computer Literacy: Advanced computer literacy with comfort navigating digital diagnostic tools, software systems, and data logs.
- Physical & Driving Requirements: Ability to safely lift and move equipment exceeding 50 pounds, a comfortable disposition working in varied field settings, and a valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for the past 12 months (no CDL required).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, a structured and logical approach to troubleshooting, and a collaborative, creative mindset to tackle unique engineering challenges.
