Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Masonry Worker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a variety of masonry tasks that bring architectural visions to life, from laying bricks and stones to installing concrete forms. Your expertise will contribute to the durability, aesthetic appeal, and structural integrity of diverse construction projects. Responsibilities
- Construct, repair, and restore structures using bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials with precision and attention to detail.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately to determine project specifications and material requirements.
- Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, levels, as well as power tools including drills, saws, and mixers safely and efficiently.
- Use heavy equipment when necessary for lifting or moving heavy materials on-site while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople like carpenters or welders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by managing materials properly and following safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction with a focus on masonry work; previous experience in renovation or restoration projects is highly valued.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately for precise execution of tasks.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in masonry and general construction settings.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation relevant to material handling or site preparation.
- Understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks throughout long shifts; ability to stand for extended periods while working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license preferred; certification in construction estimating or advanced masonry techniques is a plus.
