Backend Engineer – Golang | AI Security
Location: San Jose, CA | Hybrid
Compensation: $170K–$200K Base + Equity

About the Role
We are a seed-stage enterprise security startup building the runtime infrastructure that gives organizations visibility and control over AI agents interacting with APIs, production data, and business workflows.
We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Golang experience and Mandarin-speaking ability to help build and scale our core platform.
What You'll Do
- Build and operate production-grade backend services using Golang.
- Develop APIs for policy enforcement, authorization, and auditing.
- Build the real-time entity graph connecting users, AI agents, resources, and actions.
- Develop integrations with AWS, Okta, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Design scalable data models and reliable distributed systems.
- Debug, optimize, and ship production code directly to customers.
- Work closely with the founding team to turn ambiguous problems into simple, reliable solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on Golang / Go backend development experience.
- Experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and data modeling.
- Strong problem-solving and system-design skills.
- Professional Mandarin-speaking ability is required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI agents, LLMs, or tool-calling systems.
- Background in cybersecurity, identity, infrastructure, or cloud.
- Experience with AWS, Okta, IAM, or graph databases.
- Experience building authorization, policy, or audit systems.
Pay: $170,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
