Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and safety standards
- Assist in menu planning and ensure adherence to established recipes for consistent quality
- Cook dishes to order, following proper techniques and safety procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools regularly throughout shifts
- Support food safety management practices by handling food properly and following sanitation protocols
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service environment, including restaurant or catering settings (Must have grill and sauté experience)
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of food handling safety standards and food industry best practices
- Skills in knife handling, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence are highly valued
- Experience with meal preparation, food safety management, and operating kitchen equipment is preferred
- Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members in a fast-paced setting
- Culinary experience or training that highlights proficiency in cooking techniques and food presentation
