Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Community Assistant to join our vibrant property management team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for residents, prospective tenants, and vendors, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained community environment. Your proactive approach will help foster positive relationships, support leasing activities, and uphold compliance with housing regulations. Duties
- Greet residents, visitors, and prospective tenants with professionalism and enthusiasm, providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Assist with leasing activities including property tours, application processing, and lease signing using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite
- Maintain accurate data entry of resident information, rent payments, and service requests while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Fair Housing regulations
- Support rent collection efforts through friendly communication and upselling additional services or amenities when appropriate
- Coordinate property maintenance requests and facilitate communication between residents and maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution
- Manage filing systems, legal documentation, contracts, and resident records in accordance with legal administrative standards
- Enforce community policies by addressing conflicts promptly and professionally while promoting a positive living environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in property management, leasing, or real estate administrative roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 housing programs, and Landlord-Tenant Law to ensure regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with Yardi, OneSite, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), or similar property management software
- Strong customer service skills combined with excellent phone etiquette and conflict management abilities
- Ability to handle legal documents such as contracts confidently while maintaining attention to detail during data entry and filing tasks
- Office experience including filing, data management, and administrative support is essential
- Demonstrated negotiation skills for upselling amenities or lease terms in a professional manner
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations to promote equal opportunity housing practices
- Facilities management understanding for coordinating property maintenance and ensuring safety standards are met
