Curriculum Coordinator – Early Education Center
Full Time, Non-Exempt Position YMCA of Greater Nashua
Position Summary
The Curriculum Coordinator provides leadership, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality early childhood education programming across the Early Education Center. This role partners closely with teaching staff to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, strengthen classroom practices, and foster engaging learning environments aligned with the NH Pyramid Model, YMCA standards, and NAEYC best practices and ensure quality enrichment opportunities.
The Curriculum Coordinator plays a key role in supporting teachers, promoting positive child outcomes, and creating a culture of continuous learning and collaboration that reflects the YMCA’s mission and core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Leadership
- Lead implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the NH Pyramid Model.
- Support teachers in planning engaging, play-based learning experiences.
- Ensure curriculum reflects best practices in early childhood education.
- Pursue grant opportunities to sustain and enhance quality programs and staff professional development.
Teacher Coaching & Development
- Provide classroom coaching and mentorship for teaching staff.
- Conduct regular classroom observations with checklist.
- Provide feedback to strengthen instructional practices.
Assessment & Child Development
- Support teachers in using assessment tools to guide learning experiences.
- Encourage use of child portfolios and developmental documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers and families on child development goals.
Classroom Quality
Ensure classrooms demonstrate:
- Positive teacher-child interactions
- Clear routines and transitions
- Play-based learning environments
- Age-appropriate classroom management
- Inquiry-based learning experiences
- Appropriate visual schedules
- Enrichment experiences scheduled and appropriate
- View Weekly Lesson Plans
Professional Development
- Facilitate staff training on curriculum and classroom practices at staff meetings
- Support teachers in implementing YMCA and NAEYC standards.
- Participate in professional learning communities with staff.
Family Engagement in Learning
- Promote family involvement in children's learning and development.
- Encourage communication between teachers and families regarding child progress.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience in early childhood education.
- Experience coaching or mentoring teachers preferred.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, Pyramid Model, and NAEYC standards.
- Strong facilitation and professional development skills.
