Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute painting tasks according to specifications
- Apply paint using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (conventional and airless), and construction spray techniques
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for surface preparation, coating application, and fixture installation
- Perform structural painting on surfaces such as stucco, masonry, concrete, and metal structures to protect against corrosion and weathering
- Follow safety regulations by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to safety protocols at all times during work activities
- Conduct visual color comparisons to ensure color consistency across different surfaces and projects
- Assist with renovation projects by performing carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry or framing when needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials in accordance with safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to interpret schematics or blueprints for complex projects involving industrial or commercial painting
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting, including residential, commercial, or industrial settings
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus
- Familiarity with color theory principles for accurate color matching and coordination
- Ability to operate ladders safely for high-reach areas and scaffolding when necessary
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spraying), brushes, rollers, and other application equipment
- Experience with surface preparation techniques such as sanding, scraping, caulking, plastering, and masonry work
- Understanding of safety regulations including respiratory protection measures and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or schematics accurately for precise project execution
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading for complex projects involving multiple surfaces or finishes
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses or surface areas
- Construction site experience with an emphasis on safety protocol adherence in dynamic environments
- Additional skills such as welding, restoration work, fixture installation or handyman experience are advantageous but not required
