Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, utilizing host/hostess experience if applicable
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales, employing effective sales techniques
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and providing exceptional customer service
- Clear tables, bussing and resetting dining areas to maintain cleanliness and readiness for new guests
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation and timely service in line with fine dining or nightclub standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering duties, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Utilize reservation management tools like OpenTable to coordinate guest seating and waitlist management
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment adhering to sanitation standards and food safety regulations
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally
- Experience in food industry roles including serving, bussing, or hosting/hostessing in restaurant or nightclub settings
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to multitask effectively while managing time efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills for guest relations and teamwork within the restaurant or hospitality setting
- Culinary experience or kitchen background is a plus for understanding food preparation processes
- Basic math skills for accurate billing, cash handling, and transaction processing
- Familiarity with reservation platforms like OpenTable is advantageous for managing guest seating efficiently
