Position Summary
Fast Track Specialties, LP is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to prepare detailed estimates and proposals for Division 10 Architectural Specialties projects.
Success in this position requires accuracy, organization, commercial plan-reading experience, and the ability to consistently manage bid deadlines and follow-up activities.
This is a full-time, 100% on-site position at our Houston office. Remote, hybrid, and work-from-home arrangements are not available.

Responsibilities
The Commercial Construction Estimator will:
- Review commercial construction drawings, specifications, addenda, schedules, and bid documents.
- Identify the applicable Division 10 scope of work.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and manufacturer pricing.
- Estimate material and labor costs.
- Prepare complete, accurate, and competitive proposals.
- Submit proposals within required deadlines.
- Review addenda and revise estimates when necessary.
- Track bid status and follow up with customers.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
- Coordinate the handoff of awarded projects to the Project Management team.
- Maintain accurate and organized estimating and bid documentation.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of direct commercial construction estimating experience with a general contractor, commercial subcontractor, or specialty contractor.
- Professional experience reading and interpreting commercial construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and related bid documents.
- Professional experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing construction proposals.
- Experience using On-Screen Takeoff or comparable recognized commercial construction takeoff software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and meet firm deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound critical-thinking, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
This is not an entry-level position. Residential-only, insurance/restoration, or non-construction estimating experience does not satisfy the commercial estimating experience requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating Division 10 Architectural Specialties.
- Experience estimating for a commercial specialty subcontractor.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with commercial general contractors, manufacturers, or construction-material vendors.
Division 10 experience is preferred but is not required. Fast Track Specialties can train an experienced commercial construction estimator on our products and Division 10 scope.
Work Location and Schedule
This position is located at our Houston, Texas 77070 office.
- This position is 100% on-site.
- The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Remote, hybrid, and work-from-home arrangements are not available.
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Houston office or relocate to the Houston area before their first day of employment.
- Relocation assistance is not available.
- Candidates who advance in the selection process must be available for an in-person interview at our Houston office.
Compensation and Benefits
- $50,000–$68,500 per year, based on directly relevant experience
