Job Summary
Busy law office in Downtown Brooklyn is looking for an associate (0-2 years' experience) to handle all aspects of litigation and client interactions. The office primarily focuses on commercial litigation, real estate litigation, insurance litigation, Surrogate’s Court practice, guardianships, and appeals. We also deal with a variety of additional litigation areas. The firm does not engage in transactional work.

Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case development and legal analysis
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motion papers, appeals, preparation of submission to Surrogate's Court
- Court appearances
- Review of discovery and preparation for, and taking of, depositions
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status
Qualifications
- Willing to train a recent graduate, but with preference to someone with past exposure to litigation or the Court system.
- Knowledge of ERISA is also preferred.
- Must be admitted in New York or passed the bar and seeking admission in New York.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; ability to efficiently locate pertinent case law and statutes
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work under deadlines
Pay: $1.00 - $150,000.00 per year
