Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Deliver individual and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while ensuring patient safety.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with patients’ needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, chronic pain conditions, or gender issues counseling.
- Maintain meticulous medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations; ensure accurate coding using CPT codes for billing purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience in mental health counseling with a strong foundation in psychotherapy techniques such as psychodynamic therapy and behavioral therapy.
- Proficiency in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies for diverse populations experiencing mental health emergencies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, case management, and treatment planning tailored to individual needs.
- Experience delivering telehealth services using secure platforms; adept at managing remote patient interactions effectively.
- Knowledge of addiction counseling methods and grief counseling techniques to support emotional recovery processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
